Answering Insurance Questions For A Quote?

They’re going to know – it will show up in the vin coding.

So you can’t hide it. If you lie, you’ll get an uprate after they run the vin.

Yeah, you’re probably not going to be able to get away with this. Not to mention the fact that even if it falls through the cracks, it will void your policy in the event you get in an accident and they do find out. Think: is not just the repairs on the car, but if you get into an accident where someone else is injured and it’s your fault–now you’re in REAL trouble.

As the first person mentioned, it is coded into the VIN number. You really should avoid lying about anything when obtaining insurance. An insurance policy is a contract and if it is discovered that you’ve misrepresented something, the contract becomes void. Not good.

In most cases, the VIN will pull it up so your actual policy premiums will not match your original quote. They also could deny any claims you may have due to misrepresentation. Also, if you have coverage on your vehicle they may underpay you in the event of a loss because you’re supposed “base” model vehicle has an actual cash value less than your turbo and they wouldn’t pay you for the turbo model b/c you weren’t paying premiums for the turbo model.

What is the point of getting a quote that is not accurate? You have no choice in the matter. Your vehicle identification number will reveal that your car is turbo equipped.

If you choose to use the other model’s vehicle identification number the certificate of insurance the insurance company issues will not match up with your vehicle’s registration. So when you go to get your license plates with your “bogus” certificate the Secretary of State is going to decline issuing or renewing your license plate.

    Hi Sickness,

The insurance company already knows it has a turbo. It’s coded into the vin.

That car should not ba anymore than $60 a month for full coverage (if it’s the car I think it is). If you are asked to pay more I would shop around.

See my source below. Hope this helps :)

sickness_2k2, There are lots of sites where you can get a free insurance quote. It only takes roughly 10 minutes to do.

I won’t repeat the already re-repeated like most everyone else has…however, it’s important that you’re insured right. Aside the point that you can’t get around it, you WANT to be insured correctly. If you got in an accident and hadn’t told the insurance company something as important as that, your claim would very possibly be denied. It’s like insuring a house that has a swimming pool and a trampoline with two pit bulls, but not disclosing any of that. If you have a claim, it’s probably going to be related to one of those riskier items that you pay more for. Turbo is one of those risky twists on a car…more likely to get in an accident…overall..

One thing you can do is have a local agent shop the market for you and find the company with the best rate. Fill out a form at and see what someone local can do for you. They will all have different rates. Have them compete for your business.

    Sincerely,

    Jared B.

Turbo is increasing your rates cause it is considered as sporty feature.
I think – you should just compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here – car-insurance.22web.net
