What kind of homework is that? :-)

Anyway, an insurance quote is the monthly cost you will have to pay to be protected (insured).

the monthly cost is usually called premium.

This applies for any kind of insurance: life insurance, car insurance, property, house, etc.

A quote means asking an insurance company: how much would you charge me every month to cover/protect me in case XYZ happens?

    Hope this helps.

To expand a little as well. The quote definitely gives the premium, but more importantly, it outlines the coverage you will get with the policy. A life insurance policy is pretty much the same anywhere (if you die, your beneficiaries receive a payment).

Other personal and commercial policies can deviate drastically and you will only know from the quotes that outline all of the actual coverages.

For example, you probably have an auto policy. If two companies give you quotes of $100 and $150, it sounds like the $100 premium is the best one to go for. The quote, however, may show that the $150 premium quote offers 3 times the coverage (policy limit) than the other one making it the better quote.

Typically the very basic personal policies (Auto and Home) are pretty similar from one company to the next but add any complexity at all and they will begin to become very different quickly.

A quote is an estimated price for insurance. Whatever kind of insurance you want, before you buy it, you get a quote, so you know how much to pay.

“All” kinds of insurance, wow, I bet there are hundreds of different kinds. Common ones are auto, house, life, health, business (maybe 60 subcategories of business insurance).

Ask your parents about it. They’ve got some.
