pre-81 on a quote only means that that is the cheapest rate that they have, it wouldn't matter if the car was a 51, the rate would be the same, call Progressive back and get a quote
the specialty companies for antique cars have rules such as cars must be garaged all the time and cannot be driven more than 1,000 miles a year, etc

If you are going to be driving the car every day go back to Progressive. The site has a drop down box to pick Pre 81 or call Progressive and they will give you a quote over the phone.

If you are going to be restoring it and only driving on a very occassional basis it can be insured on a collectors car policy. Try either or. You need to check the rules that each company has regarding mileage and useage of the vehicles if you do insure them on this type of policy

Generally you can get insurance for older cars the same places you get it for new cars, but there is a slightly different method. You will need to find a local independent agent that can search the available companies for you, and generally they will need to do an inspection of the vehicle. This is actually good, since pre 81 vehicles would have no official worth, but when they do the inspection they would note condition (I'm assuming you have them in good condition) and assign a value. I run a tow service, and have a 1968 Chevrolet 1 ton with a Holmes 440 winch that I run in parades (and still use for a yard truck) that is heavily modified and had to go through that inspection process. That's why they don't even mention it on line with quotes. Too many variables to set a definite amount for coverage.

Don't know a site, but you should be able to call your current insurance company and get a "stated value" insurance policy quote. This is especially true if there are lots of modifications to the car.
